Reflecting on this assignment has been incredibly insightful for me. It forced me to dig deep into my past experiences with education and consider how they’ve shaped my journey to becoming a teacher. It surprised me how much this reflection mattered because it gave me a concrete idea of the kind of teacher I want to be.
By looking back at both the positive and negative experiences I’ve had, I could figure out ways to ensure my future students have more positives to remember. But the most eye-opening part of the assignment was when we shared our reflections with the class. Hearing about my classmates’ experiences opened my eyes to different viewpoints on education and flooded me with ideas on how to create an inclusive classroom where everyone feels safe and heard.
In short, this assignment has been a real eye-opener for me. It’s given me a clearer sense of direction as I move forward in my journey to becoming a teacher.
